Global Environmental Initiative

10/06/2014 4:52 AM

News Corp has launched its new Global Environmental Initiative committing all News Corp companies to take a passionate, principled and purposeful approach to the future.

The Global Environmental Initiative is News Corp’s commitment to minimising our environmental impact, growing sustainably and inspiring others to take action.

Initiatives are focused on three key areas. The first is to reduce our carbon footprint while growing our business, and minimising landfill waste within our business and communities.

The second is to engage with customers, employees, suppliers and partners on sustainability outcomes.

And the third is to source responsibly the paper we use from paper mills using third-party certified sustainable forest management systems and/or recycled content, and to power our operations with clean energy.

This new approach builds on the Global Energy Initiative launched in 2007 by our former parent company. For News Corp Australia, this means a refocused approach to environmental sustainability that impacts every part of our business.
